Invest in Room to Read's Literacy Program in Sri Lanka.

Since 2009, Ketchum employees have supported Room to Read through annual fundraising campaigns directed towards a specific goal. This year we are focusing our efforts on Room to Read Sri Lanka. Our 2019 target is USD$12,500 – $50 for each of the approximately 250 victims of the country's recent terror attack – and all levels of donation are welcome. Education is not a privilege, it is a right of every child. Research tells us that children who have a strong foundation of literacy skills are more likely to succeed throughout their education, break the cycle of poverty and be better equipped to realize their full potential.

Ketchum’s work with Room to Read is a Ketchum Social Responsibility (KSR) initiative. In addition to our year-round pro bono efforts, the agency has:

  • Established libraries in Cambodia, Nepal, Tanzania and Vietnam
  • Published and distributed 5,000 local language children’s books in Laos
  • Supported 222 girls in Zambia, India, Tanzania and Bangladesh through the Girls’ Education Program
  • Provided 200 teachers with one year of training in South Africa
  • Enabled 540 children to receive a one-year enrollment in the Literacy Program in Africa and Asia

With your contributions, we can continue to support the education and, ultimately, the future success of the world’s children. If you have any questions about Ketchum’s partnership with Room to Read, please email Mindy.Rubinstein@ketchum.com.
