Room to Read is a proud partner of the IKEA Foundation and IKEA's Let's Play for Change campaign, which supports a child's rights to play and develop. IKEA Foundation has granted Є45 million to its six participating partners to support the fundamental right of every child to play and to develop. Thanks to the Let’s Play for Change campaign, the IKEA Foundation is supporting Room to Read to reach more than 93,000 children through its Literacy Program in Bangladesh and Indonesia. #LetsPlay
We’re thrilled to announce that twenty Room to Read books were selected as exhibition features in the Illustrator Gallery at the Asian Festival of Children’s Content.
Amidst the towering skyscrapers of Dhaka is a small, one-room home where 12-year-old Arif and his family live. While the bare walls lack access to sunlight, they are adorned with a few letters of the Bangla alphabet–a symbol of young Arif’s journey towards literacy.
Today, on Children’s Rights Day, Room to Read announced its partnership with IKEA and IKEA Foundation for Let’s Play for Change, the new IKEA good cause campaign which supports Room to Read as well as five other children’s rights organizations.
Let’s Play for Change supports Room to Read to transform learning environments for children in early grades, so that they can become lifelong learners and develop both a habit and love of reading.
