Celebrate MetLife Foundation's Partnership with Room to Read and Send a Message of Encouragement

Today, girls' education faces unprecedented risk globally. Girls in low-income communities where Room to Read works are encountering heightened risk of gender-based discrimination, early marriage and child labor, as well as gender-based violence and even the threat of human trafficking. For girls in these communities, COVID-19 forced school closures are often not a pause to their education, but an end.

That is why we are more grateful than ever to have MetLife Foundation’s support of our Girls’ Education Program. Since 2017, MetLife Foundation's support has enabled thousands of girls to connect with resources they need to make key life decisions by providing life skills curriculum, opportunities for mentorship and peer support, and family and community engagement.

As part of our Girls’ Education Program, you can make an impact today by volunteering your time to write girls within Room to Read’s program messages of encouragement during this challenging time. Girls in secondary school within vulnerable communities that Room to Read reaches will receive your letters - and you can write them in your own native language, as the letters will be translated before distribution.
